CONNECTICUT’S LARGEST SPRING HOME SHOW MOVES TO THE HARTFORD XL CENTER

HARTFORD, CT – Jenks Productions, event organizer for the Spring Home Show in Hartford, announces the new home for their 19th annual show, March 1-3.  Formerly held at the Expo Center, now closed, the 2012 edition will be held at the XL Center in Downtown Hartford.

“It feels like we’re coming home after 35 years,” comments Dennis Jenks, President and Founder of Jenks Productions.  “We launched our fist show ever at the XL Center, when it was known as The Hartford Civic Center.”

The show had to be moved this year due to the sale and closing of the Expo Center.  The XL Center has been remodeled and renovated recently, and is one of the most recognized venues in the state.

Jenks Productions, headquartered in Wethersfield, Connecticut, has specialized in Home and Bridal shows for over 33 years.  They report that Home Shows have defied the economic downturn and devastation in the housing market.  “Our shows are more about home remodeling, decorating, and general home improvement,” Jenks points out. “Our typical attendee is shopping for a product or service to fix up their home, put on an addition, or maybe redecorate.  There is no substitute for the unique experience of visualizing the hundreds of exhibitors and talking to the onsite professionals.”

Attendance to the Spring Home Show has remained very strong in Connecticut over the last few years.  The Jenks Productions Home Shows in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania are also holding their own, despite a troubled economy.  Prior to the recession, there was a mass movement by home owners to sell and either move up to a larger home, or build a new one.  Now the reality is that most home owners are staying put and making their existing homes more comfortable.

The Jenks Productions 19th Annual Spring Home Show continues to present the largest collection of home-related exhibitors in Connecticut.  Over 300 companies will be represented in both the exhibition and assembly halls at the XL Center.  This year Xfinity is welcomed as the Presenting Sponsor, bringing with them carpenter and host of A&E’s “Drill Team”, Jeff Devlin.  Show hours are Friday March 1st from 5pm-9pm, Saturday March 2nd from 10am-9pm, and Sunday March 3rd from 10am-5pm.  Jeff Devlin will be at the show Saturday, from 12pm-4pm.
